Winter is upon us and Bozeman is finally starting to get some snow. Please remember to shovel your sidewalks in a timely manner, as there is a city ordinance requiring you to do so. The city is responsible for removing snow around the parks. Once again this year, the HOA is paying a company to remove the snow from the common sidewalks and plow the streets. If you see any of the common sidewalks not having the snow removed, please contact your Board Members or the City of Bozeman.
During the 2021-22 winter last year, a lot of residents noticed that their streets in the interior of the neighborhood were not getting plowed at the same level of service as New Holland or Hunters Way. Some streets seemed to not be getting plowed at all. With the large amount of snow we received last year this resulted in streets that were almost impassable. Yet the HOA still paid double for snow removal in 2022 ($38,988) than it did in 2021 ($18,827). If you notice that your street is not being plowed, please reach out to your Board Members.
The City of Bozeman has certain restrictions they place upon any third party individual/plowing company that is plowing a city street:
You can plow residential streets with the following conditions:
Snow must be evenly distributed to both sides of the street.
You cannot block driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants or pedestrian crossings.
You will be responsible for any boulevard tree damage.
The City is not responsible for any damage to your vehicle or equipment.
You will be responsible for damage to manholes and water valve boxes.
No equipment can be used with down pressure. Must operate in float.
Snow from alleys cannot be deposited in the street.
If you are having troubles clearing snow that has been plowed into your driveway, mailboxes, fire hydrants, or pedestrian crossing please contact your HOA Board Members.
